ANOTHER DAY OUT ON THE WESTWAY, MAKING MONEY FOR SOMEONE ELSE
This one’s been a long time coming.. I first wrote these songs whilst working in an Irish Bar in New York. It was about the characters around me with stories and behaviours you couldn’t make up really. I was never going to last long there, my life changed a lot while I was and I realised what was now important to me. The first draft of these songs was an album called ‘The Next Love’, it was incredibly angry and representative of the music I was listening to at the time in America, mainly Britpop and the music I grew up on. It seems i’m an Americana folky when living in London, and a Britpop rocker when in New York, and I hope this one represents a bit of that.
